R. Devan Jensen is executive editor at BYU's Religious Studies Center. He worked previously as an editor for the Ensign magazine, Church Publishing Services, and Deseret Book Company. He received his BA (cum laude) and MA degrees in English from BYU and has published four books and thirty articles. In 2016 he received the President's Appreciation Award. In 2015 he received the Dean's Award for exceptional service. He is compiling a book on Mormons in Micronesia, emerging from his missionary service in Guam and Pohnpei in Micronesia. He is a magician, musician, member of LDS Publishing Professionals and Sons of Utah Pioneers, longtime Scout leader, Eagle Scout, and National Merit Scholar. He has presented at Campus Education Week, LDS Publishing Professionals Association, Mormon History Association Conference, Pacific History Association, and Utah State History Conference. Jensen has taught editing and Book of Mormon at BYU and business writing at Utah Valley University. From 2011 to 2012, Jensen chaired BYU’s Administrative Advisory Council, which handles university awards and suggestions from around campus. He and his wife, Patty, live in Orem, Utah, and have four children.
