
Devan Jensen was the executive editor at the Religious Studies Center at Brigham Young University when this was written. Since joining the RSC in 2001, he has copyedited about 250 books or book-length projects, which garnered many awards. In 2016 he received the BYU President's Appreciation Award, and in 2015 he received the Dean's Award for exceptional service. He has presented at the BYU Church History Symposium, BYU Education Week, the Latter-day Saint Publishing and Media Association Conference, Mormon History Association Conference, Pacific History Association Conference, and Utah State History Conference. He is a member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers, founding member of LDS Educators Association, longtime Scout leader, and Eagle Scout. He worked previously as an editor for the Ensign magazine, Church Publishing Services Department, and Deseret Book Company. As a National Merit Scholar, he received his BA (cum laude) and MA degrees in English from BYU and has published five books and about fifty articles. He is compiling a book on Church members in Micronesia, emerging from his missionary service in Guam and Pohnpei. He and his wife, Patty, live in Orem, Utah, and have four children and one grandaughter.
