Gaye Strathearn was an associate professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University when this was written. Born and raised in Australia, she participated in the Jerusalem study abroad program in the fall of 1987. She came to BYU as a student in 1989 and earned an BA and an MA in Near Eastern studies. She earned a PhD in New Testament at the Claremont Graduate University.
