David F. Boone was born in Jacksonville, Florida. When he returned from his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California South Mission, he attended Brigham Young University, where he received his master’s degree in American western history with an emphasis in LDS pioneer history. He also earned a doctorate degree in educational leadership with an emphasis in LDS academics and church education. Brother Boone is married to Mary Farnsworth, and they have eight children. Currently Brother Boone teaches classes at Brigham Young University on the Doctrine and Covenants, teachings of the living prophets, LDS history, the international Church, and men and women of Mormondom.
