Robert John Woodford is an expert on Joseph Smith and the Doctrine and Covenants, with a PhD from BYU in Bible and modern scripture. He spent much of his career as an institute teacher at the Institute of Religion adjacent to the University of Utah campus and now works as one of the editors of The Joseph Smith Papers. He and his wife, Norda, are the parents of eight children.
