Guy L. Dorius was a professor of Church history and doctrine at Brigham Young University when this was written. Born in Salt Lake City and raised in Chicago, Dorius received a BS degree in fuels engineering from the University of Utah, as well as an MEd in education administration and a PhD in family studies from BYU. He and his wife, the former Vicki Johnson, have seven children. Dorius formerly taught in the Church Educational System.
