McKinlay (MTS, Boston University; MA in New Testament and Early Christianity, University of Virginia; MLIS, Brigham Young University) served as a resident scholar at the Institute for the Study and Preservation of Ancient Religious Texts, where he was the reference service manager for the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies (FARMS).
