Ugo A. Perego was the director of operations at the Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation in Salt Lake City from 2001 to 2011 and the director of the Rome Institute of Religion from 2012 to 2021. He is currently a biology instructor for the Southeastern Community College in Iowa and an adjunct faculty in forensic genetic genealogy at the University of New Haven in Connecticut. He earned a PhD in genetics and biomolecular sciences from the University of Pavia, Italy, under the mentorship of Professor Antonio Torroni.
