Appendix B
Leaders with Ties to the Colonies
Virginia Hatch Romney and Richard O. Cowan, The Colonia Juárez Temple: A Prophet’s Inspiration (Provo, UT: Religious Studies Center, Brigham Young University, 2009), 185-92.
During his 1997 visit, President Gordon B. Hinckley was impressed by the
large number of Church leaders who had ties to the Mormon colonies in
Mexico. The following lists show that the small group of faithful Saints in
the colonies has continued this pattern. These lists contain some men who themselves
were not from the colonies but whose wives were. The wife is typically an integral part
of the leadership team, such as those who served as matrons when their husbands were
called as temple presidents.
