Bruce L. Christensen, formerly dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communications at Brigham Young University, is now a senior vice president of Bonneville International. He was born in Ogden, Utah. He is a graduate of the University of Utah and received an MS from Northwestern University. While pursuing his education, he worked as a reporter, first for KSL, then for WGN News in Chicago, and then again for KSL. Later he was general manager of KBYU and then KUED and KUER FM at the University of Utah. He became president of the National Association of Public Television Stations in 1982 and was named president and CEO of the Public Broadcasting Service in 1984, serving in that capacity until 1993, when he accepted the deanship at BYU. He has served on a number of business and civic boards, but in his heart, he considers himself a journalist. Mr. Christensen and his wife, Barbara, are the parents of four children and the grandparents of four. They live in Orem, Utah.
