Joseph Campbell

Professor emeritus of literature at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, Joseph Campbell enjoys a worldwide reputation as an authority in the field of comparative mythology. He has written and edited some twenty-five books on comparative religions and mythology, including his influential interpretation of the hero myth, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, and his important four-volume study of world myths, The Masks of God. He wrote and compiled a two-volume historical atlas of world mythology.
