[1] This report of the Prophet's remarks at the Nauvoo Lyceum is here published for the first time.

[2] Obviously still smarting from betrayals by some of his brethren while in Kirtland, Ohio and Far West, Missouri, the Prophet also expressed this idea in his 2 July 1839 discourse: "Whatever you do, do not betray your Friend."
