Acknowledgements
Several individuals have provided me with support and encouragement as I researched and wrote this present volume. I appreciate the professionalism and kindnesses of Professor Scott Esplin, dean of Religious Education (formerly, publications director of the RSC); Jared W. Ludlow, publications director of the RSC; and two well-known Isaiah scholars from Brigham Young University—Professor Shon D. Hopkin (chair of the Department of Ancient Scripture) and Professor Emeritus Terry Ball (former dean of Religious Education). Professors Hopkin and Ball carefully read an early draft of the manuscript and I thank them for their kind support, words of encouragement, and insightful and invaluable comments. I also extend appreciation to the three scholars who served as “double-blind” reviewers for their many helpful comments and suggestions, which also improved the manuscript.
I am thankful for the skills, proficiency, and competence of three accomplished editors—Rebecca Timmons (BYU Faculty Publishing Service), who edited the initial, sizeable manuscript, which manuscript also included my new translation of the writings of Isaiah; Alania Wangsgaard Dunn (RSC), who edited the present volume; and Annalyn Sorensen (RSC), who provided editing support. These three editors made various improvements in presentation, style, and grammar, all with the highest level of expertise.
I am also indebted to the RSC team for their important contributions to the volume—Brent R. Nordgren (business and production supervisor); Leigh Ann Copas (publications coordinator), who conducted multiple behind-the-scenes efforts to bring this volume to publication; and Alex Socarras, who prepared the interior and cover design.
