Ronald O. Barney is the editor of Mormon Historical Studies. He was executive director of the Mormon History Association from 2011 to 2014. He was an archivist and historian for thirty-three years in the History Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While there, he was also associate editor of The Joseph Smith Papers and was creator and executive producer of the television series that complemented the project. He has written three books and served on the editorial boards of BYU Studies, Western Historical Quarterly, and the Journal of Mormon History. He and his wife, Marilyn, have three children and eleven grandchildren.
