Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments to Prophet of the Jubilee Ronald D. Dennis, ed., (Provo, UT: Religious Studies Center, Brigham Young University, 1997), xxxvii.

I am indebted to a number of people for making this “facsimile translation” possible. Five of the six issues for 1846 were translated in their entirety by Marilyn Davies of Prestatyn, North Wales. Tecwyn Evans of Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, and Rozelle James Kania of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, provided assistance with the 1847 and 1848 volumes. Dr. Geraint Bowen and his wife Zonia of Caernarfon, North Wales, were kind enough to furnish translations for dozens of “problem areas” throughout the entire periodical. D. L. Davies of Cwmaman, South Wales, offered invaluable help in reviewing and improving the translations for the poetry throughout. My special thanks to David R. Coughanour of Provo, Utah, for his careful and creative typesetting. Thanks also to Arle Lommel of Anchorage, Alaska, for preparing the index and helping with the typesetting. For proofreading I express appreciation to Linda Hunter Adams of the Brigham Young University College of Humanities Publications Center and her very able students: Jane Clayson, Allison Clinger, Chandelle Crane, Paula Messer Hiatt, Kristen Jafek, Janette Jeffress, Karen Lusby, Emily Manwaring, Kristina McGuire, Suzanne Schurig, and Teresa Silfies. Lisa Kurki and Jason Roberts of the Brigham Young University Religious Studies Center spent many hours proofreading. And Ana Nelson Shaw, also of the Religious Studies Center, read the entire manuscript and offered many helpful suggestions. To all I express my heartfelt gratitude.
