[1] Diary Joseph spoke. P M.

—3 July 1843

Notes

[1] The History of the Church gives no indication that the Prophet spoke publicly this day. Not in Teachings. The account from Willard Richards's diary possibly refers to remarks made by the Prophet to a body of men, under the command of Charles C. Rich, who had just returned to Nauvoo, having been sent to rescue Joseph Smith at Dixon, Illinois.
