Jeni Broberg Holzapfel attended Brigham Young University, studying classics with an emphasis in Greek New Testament. Richard Neitzel Holzapfel, her husband, has a PhD in ancient history from the University of California, Irvine, and is a professor of Church history and doctrine at BYU. They are the parents of five children.
