Warner P. Woodworth was a professor in the Department of Organizations Leadership and Strategy in the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University when this was written. He is a leading advocate of the development of microcredit and has been involved in researching as well as developing such programs. He received his BS and MS degrees from BYU and an MA and a PhD from the University of Michigan. 

Among other positions, Elder Woodworth has served as a co-editor for the Journal of Microfinance.
