Thomas R. Valletta was director of seminary and institute curriculum for the Church Educational System when this was written. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brigham Young University and a PhD from Northern Illinois University. He has taught seminary and institute and has served as a mission president. He is the general editor of The Book of Mormon for Latter-day Saint Families and The New Testament for Latter-day Saint Families. He is a member of the Pleasant View Fourth Ward in the Pleasant View Utah Stake, where he serves on the high council. He and his wife, Charlene, have five children.
