John Fossum received both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in English from Brigham Young University. After graduating, he accepted a job with the Church Educational System and has taught seminary and institute classes for ten years. In addition to teaching seminary and institute, Brother Fossum has also taught seasonal classes for BYU's religion department, as well as adult religion classes for BYU Continuing Education. He has also remained active in teaching college writing classes on a part-time basis for various universities. He and his wife, Sarah, have five children and live in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Their joint interests and hobbies include anything related to fitness and nutrition.
