P. Scott Ferguson was a faculty member teaching in the Department of Religious Studies at Brigham Young University-Idaho when this was written. He taught classes on the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, New Testament, missionary preparation, preparation for eternal marriage, and family foundations.

Brother Ferguson and his wife have been married for thirty-two years and have six children. Brother Ferguson enjoys writing poetry, writing hymns, and writing to understand. He claims that “writing is the single best tool to learning a doctrine comprehensively. It prepares one to teach with precision.”

Along with teaching and learning, Brother Ferguson enjoys the outdoors, remodeling projects, and making the most out of unused space and resources.
