Sherry Pack Baker

Sherry Pack Baker received an MS in 1988 and BA in 1984 in mass communications and a PhD in communications history, law, and ethics in 1994, all from the University of Utah. She is a professor and teaches both graduate and undergraduate classes at Brigham Young University, focusing primarily on communications law and ethics. Her research interests include the ethics of persuasion (public relations, advertising, marketing) and Mormon media history. Baker's publications include articles in Journal of Business EthicsJournal of Mass Media EthicsResearch in MarketingBYU StudiesEncyclopedia of International Media CommunicationsCollege Media ReviewCase Studies in Media ManagementWomen's Press Organizations, 1881-1999; and Business Ethics: The Annual Editions Series. She also wrote a section, From Radio to the Internet: Church Use of Electronic Media in the Twentieth Century, in a scholarly book. Baker served as an associate dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communications from 2006 to 2008.
