Rodney Turner was a professor in the College of Religious Instruction at Brigham Young University for thirty-two years. He received his undergraduate degree from BYU and his doctorate in education from the University of Southern California. He is the author of numerous articles, books, poems, and hymns.

Rodney and his wife, Bonnie, live in Provo and have been married for over sixty-five years. He is the father of six children and has thirty-two grandchildren and forty-seven great grandchildren.
