Laura M. Padilla-Walker was an associate professor in the School of Family Life at BYU when this was written. She received her PhD in developmental psychology from the University of Nebraska--Lincoln in 2005. Professor Walker has published several articles in top tier academic journals in the field of parenting and moral development. Her research has also been highlighted by the New York Times, CNN, ABC, CBS News, US News and Word Report, and other news outlets.
