Clark V. Johnson (1938–2009) was a professor of Church history and doctrine at Brigham Young University. Born in Preston, Idaho, he received a BA from Utah State University and an MA from BYU, going on to receive a PhD in history from BYU. His longtime interest in the Missouri period of Church history led to many related articles published in Church magazines and books. He is co-editor of Regional Studies in Latter-day Saint Church History—Arizona and author of "A Profile of Mormon Missouri, 1833–1839," in Regional Studies in LDS Church History—Missouri. He and his wife, Cheryl Geddes Johnson, have five children.
He passed away on July 25, 2009.
