Jenet Jacob Erickson was an adjunct faculty member in the School of Family Life at BYU when this was written. She received a PhD in family social science in 2007 from the University of Minnesota. Her academic research focuses on the maternal well-being in the sphere of work and family life, the influence of non-maternal child care on children's development, and the role of family routines and rituals in family well-being. She was a full-time faculty member at BYU from 2007 until 2010 when she chose to be a full-time wife and mother to her two-year-old daughter and an infant son.
