J. Nicholls "Nick" Eastmond attended his final year of high school in Ankara, Turkey, and first year of university at Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria. He earned a BA in economics from the University of Utah, a master's in education from Ohio University, and a PhD in educational psychology from the University of Utah. Brother Eastmond worked at Utah State University in the Department of Instructional Technology for thirty-seven years before retiring in 2011. His areas of specialty were program evaluation, needs assessment, technology for foreign language learning, and qualitative research.
Brother Eastmond was serving as a missionary for Seminaries and Institutes in the Republic of Benin in West Africa when this was written, where team teaching with his wife in French and in English has been a great growth experience for both of them. They are the parents of five children. Eastmond's research interests recently have been in service learning, cultural differences in using technology, and ethical challenges in today's professional world.
