Terry F. Calton was born in Billings, Montana and raised in Southern California where he joined the Church at age nineteen. One year later, he was called to serve in the Mexico Veracruz Mission. After his missionary service he taught at the Missionary Training Center in Provo while attending Brigham Young University from which he received his bachelor's degree. There he met his wife (who also served full-time in the Australia Sydney Mission) and they are the parents of five children (four married) along with eight grandchildren. The whole Calton Family lived in Cochabamba Bolivia from 2002–2005 while he served as the mission president there. He has served in many ward and stake callings and currently serves as bishop. He received his master's degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University, and has taught seminary in Mesa along with institute in New Mexico and Arizona. He is grateful to associate with the wonderful students, staff, and faculty here at the Tempe Institute where he presently serves as director.
