Bruce L. Brown was a professor in the Department of Psychology at Brigham Young University when this was written. He was born in American Fork, Utah. He attended the University of Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science. After that he attended McGill University in Montreal, Canada where he received his PhD in psychology. Following graduation he did his post-doctoral work at the University of Michigan in mathematical psychology.
