Julie B. Beck

Julie B. Beck was the fifteenth general president of the Relief Society for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2007 to 2012. She attended Dixie College and graduated from Brigham Young University with a family science degree. Sister Beck also served as the first counselor to Susan W. Tanner in the Young Women general presidency, prior to her service as Relief Society general president. When she was a child, Julie B. Beck's father was called to be a mission president in Brazil. While there, Sister Beck learned to speak Portuguese fluently. Sister Beck has ten brothers and sisters, who all lived in Brazil. Before becoming Relief Society general president, Sister Beck was a full-time homemaker and mother. She and her husband, Ramon, have three children and eight grandchildren.
