K. Douglas Bassett was an instructor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in youth leadership from BYU. He earned his doctoral degree in education from the University of New Mexico. A former seminary instructor, he has taught religion classes at BYU and currently teaches at the Orem Institute of Religion. He and his wife, the former Arlene Chapman, live in Mona, Utah. They are the parents of eight children.
