A Witness for the Restoration: Essays in Honor of Robert J. Matthews

Religious Studies Center publishes a book to honor Robert J. Matthews

Created so Religious Education at BYU could honor Robert J. Matthews for his eightieth birthday, this book is a collection of essays reflecting Matthews’ varied interests and academic loves. Featuring chapters on the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Church history and doctrine, A Witness for the Restoration: Essays to Honor Robert J. Matthews also includes a bibliography in chronological order of scholarly publications by Matthews.

As He finished quoting Isaiah, Christ further commanded the people to “search” the prophet’s writings “diligently,” assuring them that all things Isaiah spoke “have been and shall be, even according to the words which he spake” (3 Nephi 23:1, 3). What a wonderful endorsement of Isaiah! As Robert J. Matthews has said, “It’s nice to be able to quote the words of the Savior—it’s even nicer to be quoted by Him.” —Terry B.
