Religious Studies Center releases DVD tour of Salt Lake City

Downtown Salt Lake City is a beautiful city to visit and explore. Its center, the renowned Temple Square, is the headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Hallowed Ground, Sacred Journeys identifies many key sites for those who live in, work in, visit, or want to learn more about Salt Lake City.

Take a journey through time to scenes of the pioneer era. Through video and photographs, Brigham Young University professors tell the story from the Saints’ arrival in the Salt Lake Valley to present-day restorations. In this virtual tour of Salt Lake City, some photographs even offer 360-degree views.

From the comfort of your own home, visit the sites on Capitol Hill, including the Pioneer Memorial Museum. Take a tour of Temple Square with its historic Salt Lake Temple and Tabernacle. Scan through images of the Brigham Young properties, including his family cemetery, the Beehive House, and the Lion House. Find out where the Pony Express Station was located. Familiarize yourself with the history of downtown Salt Lake City.
